Overview
The post is based at the Jefferiss Wing, St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. You will join a multidisciplinary team of Consultants, Specialty doctors and associate specialists, Specialist trainees, GP trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacists who work in Sexual Health and HIV. Duties may vary over time but you will be expected to participate predominantly in the Sexual Health outpatient services;
providing both scheduled care for patients with appointments and unscheduled care for more urgent presentations. On-call duties are not included in this post.
This job would suit someone considering further training in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health, gynaecology, medical specialties or general practice.
Responsibilities- Participate predominantly in Sexual Health outpatient services, providing scheduled and unscheduled care as needed.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and participate in clinical audit and weekly clinical educational meetings (mandatory).
- Participate in administrative duties appropriate to the post as required by the Trust within stated time limits.
- Be allocated a consultant clinical supervisor and undertake regular assessments and appraisals.
- The rota is a full-time fixed term post, Monday to Friday, with 2 evening sexual health clinics (Mondays and Wednesdays).
- The post is compliant with the new junior doctor contract. Banding will be paid due to evening clinics (2 weekdays per week, finishing at 20:00).
- Every Wednesday morning we have a (virtual) in-house programme of academic meetings including talks by external speakers, journal club, audit presentations, etc.—attendance expected.
- The Trust hosts a weekly virtual lunchtime grand round meeting.
- You will be assigned a clinical supervisor for the duration of the post and encouraged to participate in ongoing clinical research and audit projects in the department.
