Overview
The post is based at the Jefferiss Wing, St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. You will join a multidisciplinary team of Consultants, Specialty doctors and associate specialists, Specialist trainees, GP trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacists who work in Sexual Health and HIV. Duties may vary over time but you will be expected to participate predominantly in the Sexual Health outpatient services, providing both scheduled care for patients with appointments and unscheduled care for more urgent presentations.
On-call duties are not included in this post.
This job would suit someone considering further training in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health, gynaecology, medical specialties or general practice.
Responsibilities- Participate predominantly in Sexual Health outpatient services, providing both scheduled care for patients with appointments and unscheduled care for more urgent presentations.
- Engage in administrative duties appropriate to the post as required, within the Trust time limits.
- Full participation in clinical audit and weekly clinical educational meetings is mandatory.
- Be allocated a consultant clinical supervisor and undertake regular assessment and appraisals with them.
- Be involved in ongoing clinical research and audit projects in the department where possible.
- Attend educational activities such as Wednesday morning in-house academic meetings and weekly virtual lunchtime grand rounds.
- Participate in the rota as described (full-time fixed term post, Monday to Friday with two evening sexual health clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays; Banding will be paid due to evening clinics finishing at 20:00).
- Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures as required (e.g., lateral flow testing, handwashing, wearing masks according to current procedures).
- Full participation in clinical audit and weekly educational meetings.
- Assigned a clinical supervisor for the duration of the post.
- Encouraged to participate in ongoing clinical research and audit projects in the department.
- Desirable: interest in further training in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health, gynaecology, medical specialties or general practice.
- Interviews may be conducted virtually as part of COVID-19 response.
- Information on vaccination and infection prevention is provided; staff are encouraged to have COVID vaccination to protect themselves and others.
