Job Summary

Fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified GP to join our friendly and hardworking multidisciplinary team. We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for 6 sessions per week. A job share would be considered, with the option to do additional extended hours in the future.

We are an innovative and forward-thinking practice committed to delivering better services using new technologies. We have recently won the NCL Sustainability and Green Plan 2025 Award for our community practice allotment project. We are an established training practice with regular medical, pharmacist, PA students, F2s and GPSTs working at the practice.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality care throughout the patient journey when they contact our practice and value every team member’s contribution in achieving this. Our GP Partner is Clinical Director of our Primary Care Network. Our clinical team includes GPs, ANPs, Prescribing Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Practice Nurse, HCAs, Social Link Prescriber and Health and Wellbeing Coach.

• Clinic sessions 09:00-13:10 and 14:20-18:30
• Recording all patient contact on the clinical system
• Completing referral letters in a timely manner
• Review of lab reports
• Review of hospital letters and discharge summaries
• Medication reviews
• EPS repeat prescriptions and medication queries
• Home visits as required
• Telephone advice
• Support clinical and admin staff for clinical queries at site
• Participate in duty doctor system within the team across sites
• Work with the Surgery to maintain and improve Quality and Outcome Framework, LCSs, LIS, DESs and the PCN
• Attend audits to meet practice needs
• Attend practice training or meetings as required
• Develop and use skills for patient care improvement and record for CPD
• Supervise or shadow medical students as required
• Potential extended management duties (e.g., QOF work, MDTs) or teaching sessions; counts as a normal clinical session for pay and timings
• Mentor medical students as required
• CPD and attendance at practice educational and clinical meetings

• Qualified GP
• MRCGP
• Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
• General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training) or CCT
• Full GMC Registration
• National Performers List registration
• Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
• Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
• Experience of working in a primary care environment
• Experience of continued professional development
• Experience of QOF and clinical audit
• Understanding of the GMS contract
• Excellent clinical knowledge and skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong IT skills; competent in Office and Outlook
• EMIS user skills
• Effective time management and ability to plan and organise
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
• Experience with audits and leading audit programmes
• Experience with clinical risk management

• DBS check and Occupational Health Clearance
