Trust Doctor; eqv to STin Interventional Cardiology

Overview

Trust Doctor ST3+ in Cardiology. Initial 12‑month appointment with possibility to extend. Opportunity to work at the Barts Heart Centre, providing tertiary cardiac care to northeast and north central London.

• Inpatient care for acute coronary syndromes through the regional heart attack service.
• Potential on‑call duties as part of the out‑of‑hours PCI team.
• Day‑to‑day care for inpatients admitted via the heart attack service, post‑PCI myocardial infarction, and elective procedures.
• Registrar on call for the heart attack service, admitting all suspected and confirmed ST‑elevation myocardial infarction cases.
• Support the invasive cardiology service with diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Supervise and perform angiography/PCI after appropriate training and competency assessment, review studies, and maintain patient safety at all times.

• MRCP or equivalent and full GMC registration with a license to practice.
• Previous experience in cardiology, particularly interventional cardiology, desirable but not essential.
• Desirable: experience in diagnostic coronary angiography and PCI.
• Full GMC registration and MCRP (or equivalent) essential for international candidates.
• International fellows encouraged to apply for interventional fellowships prior to consultancy.
