Specialty Doctor – Inpatient Psychiatry

Contract: 1‑year Fixed Term

Location: Lavender Ward, Springfield University Hospital – 15 Springfield Drive, London, SW17 0YF
. Lavender Ward is a mixed 18‑bedded ward. The Trust’s Acute and Urgent Care Service Line covers the Springfield site in Tooting and the Tolworth site in Surbiton, including 8 acute adult wards, a PICU, a psychiatric decision unit, advanced clinical practice teams, home treatment, street triage, perinatal psychiatry, liaison teams at three general hospitals and two recovery cafés.

We are a progressive, financially stable mental health trust rated ‘good’ by the CQC both overall and for our acute & urgent care services. The Trust is investing in major redevelopment programmes on the Springfield and Tolworth sites.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Specialty doctor with S12 approval to join the team on Lavender ward.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care for mixed gender acute and short stay patients.
• Work within the Trust-wide quality improvement programme and multidisciplinary team.
• Engage in continuing professional development and clinical practice development.

Qualifications and experience:

• Completion of 2 years Foundation studies (FY1 & FY2) and 2 years Core trainee level (CT1 & CT2) or equivalent.
• Suitable S12 approval and Specialty doctor experience in inpatient psychiatry.
• Grade will be based on qualifications and experience.

Post duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension by mutual agreement subject to funding.
