University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is one of the top London hospitals for training in obstetrics and gynaecology. This busy tertiary unit is very friendly and deals with a wide range of interesting conditions. Although the post is not officially recognised by the Royal College of Gynaecologists as a training post, excellent educational opportunities are available and the successful applicant will receive the same training as other ST1/ST2s.
The department is based in a state‑of‑the‑art facility in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson wing of UCLH. The successful candidate will join an international team with a strong reputation for excellent care and research. You will benefit from the department’s extensive teaching programme and the excellent clinical experience it offers. The team is friendly and supportive, encouraging academic development.
Main duties of the postST1/ST2 trainees are responsible for the day‑to‑day care of gynaecology and obstetrics patients. Responsibilities include attending gynaecology out‑patient and theatre sessions, managing ante‑natal clinics, and handling emergencies admitted through A&E le covering the labour ward, trainees are encouraged to perform a wide range of operative obstetric procedures under the supervision of a senior member of the unit.
All trainees are encouraged to participate in audit and research programmes.

Person Specification Knowledge and Qualifications- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration. Non‑UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register by the date of appointment.
- MRCOG Part 1 or equivalent
- Knowledge in obstetrics & gynaecology
- A good understanding of obstetrics & gynaecology
- Research training
- Postgraduate experience in obstetrics & gynaecology
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Good general clinical and communication skills
- Highly motivated
- Commitment to specialty and learning

Salary
