This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a one-year clinical fellowship, designed to provide sub-specialty experience in pulmonary intervention. The post would be well-suited to a respiratory trainee as an out-of-programme experience during specialist training, or as a post-CCT fellowship. The post provides a unique opportunity for a fellow to become an independent operator in endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and develop their pleural intervention skills, including local anaesthetic thoracsocopy.

Most patients requiring intervention are on a lung cancer diagnostic pathway, and the fellow will contribute attend the weekly Lung MDT and chair the weekly pleural MDT. The post holder will be expected to participate in departmental education and research.

If the post-holder is applying as a post-CCT fellow, they will also have the option of contributing to the acute medical take at SMH at consultant level, including providing respiratory input into newly admitted acute medical patients.
