The role is a Junior Clinical Fellow (ST1-3 level) in Paediatric Medicine and Paediatric Neurosciences at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Denmark Hill. The post is for 6 months with possibility of extension and The closing date is 01 February 2026.
Main duties of the job- Clinical:
All aspects of documentation and care of medical and surgical paediatric inpatients including private patients; attendance in Paediatric Accident and Emergency and management of patients in the Neurosurgical ward. - Teaching:
Assistance with consultants, lectures and specialist registrars in teaching undergraduates. - Research:
Involvement in the research interests of the department will be encouraged. - QI/audit:
Involvement in departmental quality improvement activity encouraged.
- Provide services for Child Health in collaboration with other medical/dental colleagues; treatment and management duties for the Care Group.
- Provide 24/7 cover for the Unit on rota basis, including covering annual leave and short-term sickness.
- Participate in Multi-disciplinary Meetings.
- Contribute to audit and clinical governance programmes.
- Responsible for outpatient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed with management.
- Contribute to Care Group research interests in accordance with Trust's R&D framework.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Has passed MRCPCH Theory examinations (FOP/AKP/TAS).
- Full registration with GMC/GDC with License to Practice.
- Safeguarding level 3 training. Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice including:
Good clinical care
Maintaining good medical practice
Good relationships and communication with patients
Good working relationships with colleagues
Good teaching and training
Professional behaviour and probity
Delivery of good acute clinical care
Eligibility to work in the UK - APLS NLS.
- Ability to provide complete details of employment history.
- At least 6 months' experience at SHO level in Paediatrics.
- All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues which could be demonstrated by one of the following: that applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English; or have the following scores in the IELTS – Overall 7.5; or, if applicants believe that they have adequate communication skills but do not fit into one of the examples they need to provide evidence.

Contract and Working PatternFixed term – 6 months, full-time. Salary: £52,656 to £65,048 per annum plus London Zones £2,162.
