Kingston & Richmond Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic
Senior House Officer (SHO) to join our dynamic General Medicine team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad-based experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, located in one of London’s most desirable green boroughs.
As a Trust Doctor in General Medicine, you will work closely with Consultants and Specialty Trainees to deliver high-quality care across a range of medical specialties. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing patients in general medical and elderly care wards
- Participating in post-take and acute ward rounds
- Assessing patients in the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU)
- Communicating with families and supporting discharge planning
- Attending multidisciplinary team meetings
- Completing discharge summaries and outpatient letters
- Engaging in audit and clinical governance activities
Although this is a non-training post, you will benefit from a rich educational environment:
- Weekly Grand Rounds and clinical seminars
- Access to a multidisciplinary library and Postgraduate Medical Centre
- Regular teaching sessions including journal clubs, X-ray meetings, and audit presentations
- Opportunities to teach visiting medical students from GKT, Middlesex, and St. George’s
Essential:
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration with full license to practice
- At least 6 months paid NHS experience within the last 3 years
- Completion of FY1/FY2 or equivalent
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to personal development
Desirable:
- MRCP Part 1/2
- ALS certification
- Evidence of audit or research
