Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a clinical fellow post in Plastic Surgery, based at the Royal London Hospital; starting in March/April 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in one of the busiest major trauma centres in the country and the largest trust in England. The post will be for a 6-month fellowship within the Plastic Surgery Department for a Post-CCT Senior Clinical Fellow with a special interest in Trauma, Hand and Upper Limb Surgery.
The successful candidates will join a team involved in a broad spectrum of Plastic Surgery. A large emergency workload of upper and lower limb trauma comes from the helicopter serving this Level I Trauma Centre. The post has a record of being a postgraduate approved training post and educationally sound. It provides excellent opportunities for gaining experience in microvascular surgery specifically free-tissue transfer with a sub-specialist interest in upper and lower limb reconstruction following trauma and oncological resections for breast and head & neck malignancies.
You will join a team of 17 consultants, 15 SPR level doctors and 8 SHO’s. The successful candidate is expected to have experience of managing common plastic surgical emergencies, particularly upper and lower limb trauma.
