Trust Doctor (eqv. to ST4+ level) in Breast Surgery

Barts Health NHS Trust seeks a full‑time Trust Doctor (ST4+) in the Breast Department at Whipps Cross Hospital for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves ward and outpatient duties, complex reconstruction and salvage surgery, and a range of clinics including daily one‑stop, routine follow‑up, oncoplastic and family‑history clinics.

Provide clinical and operative care across the Breast Department, attending to wards, operating lists and multidisciplinary clinics; develop expertise in breast disease and oncoplastic reconstruction; contribute to clinical audit and quality improvement projects; support education and training of trainees and junior staff; work flexibly across the Trust where required.

• MBBS or equivalent
• MRCS/FRCS
• GMC registration
• Higher diploma or degree (higher degree preferred)

• Minimum 2 years SHO experience, including 6 months in a breast department
• Experience of clinical audit and quality improvement projects
• Formal experience in education and training
• Experience in management

• Breast disease management, outpatient clinics, inpatient workload and breast surgery
• Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure
• Team working and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Oncoplastic breast surgery and reconstruction experience

• Flexible and cooperative
• Self‑motivated
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with UK health systems and practices
