Experienced General Practitioner (4 Sessions)

Salary: £13,000 per session per annum

Required days: Monday (essential) + flexibility for remaining sessions

On‑call: Weekly on‑call commitment

Experience: Minimum 5 years post‑CCT

We are seeking an experienced GP (minimum 5 years post‑CCT) to join our team for 4 sessions per week
. This role is ideal for a confident, clinically strong GP who is comfortable managing complexity and contributing to a large, dynamic practice.

Monday availability is essential

Participation in the weekly on‑call rota is required

Clinical sessions include a mix of booked appointments and triage

Strong clinical and administrative support provided

The post‑holder will provide high‑quality general medical services to the practice population and work collaboratively as part of the wider clinical team.

Key duties include:

• Undertaking clinical sessions comprising a mix of booked appointments and triage
• Participation in the weekly on‑call rota
• Providing safe, effective and evidence‑based patient care
• Managing acute and chronic conditions, including patients with complex needs
• Reviewing clinical correspondence, results and actioning tasks in a timely manner
• Contributing to practice clinical meetings and learning activities
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care
• Supporting training and supervision as appropriate to experience
• Adhering to practice policies, NHS contractual requirements and GMC guidance

Eltham Medical Practice is a large, well‑established GP practice serving approximately 26,500 patients. We are rated Good by the CQC and are committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care within a supportive and collaborative working environment.

We are a training practice with a strong multidisciplinary team including GP trainees, medical students, advanced clinical practitioners, pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, care coordinators and an experienced management and administrative team. The post‑holder will provide high‑quality general medical services as part of a large, multidisciplinary GP team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering clinical care through a mix of booked appointments and triage
• Participation in the weekly on‑call rota

• Reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence and results
• Working collaboratively with the wider MDT
• Contributing to clinical meetings and practice learning
• Adhering to GMC guidance, NHS contractual requirements and practice policies

• GMC registered GP on the NHS Performers List
• Minimum 5 years post‑CCT experience
• Availability to work Mondays
• Willingness to participate in weekly on‑call
• Excellent communication and team‑working skills
• Desirable
• Experience in large or complex practices
• Interest in teaching, mentoring or service development
