Salary: £55,825 – £90,000 a year pro rata per annum

We’re seeking a Respiratory Medicine Specialty Doctor to join an NHS Trust in London on a permanent basis. The Respiratory Medicine service is currently supported by 10 WTE Consultants and their junior teams. The team has several specialty interests, including lung cancer, pleural disease, COPD, asthma, cough, tuberculosis, allergy, interstitial lung disease, palliative care and bronchiectasis. A Chest Clinic provides a comprehensive range of out-patient services including new and follow-up consultations, full lung function tests, sleep services, skin prick testing and anti-IgE therapy for appropriate asthmatic patients.
Keytasks for the role of Specialty Doctor in Respiratory Medicine are:
- Provide senior level support to the department.
- Attend ward rounds and review patients with clinical problems outside of the respiratory bed base and respiratory HDU.
- Attend ward & board rounds with Consultants and with Specialty Training Doctors / Foundation Year 2 doctors; the Specialty Doctor may be responsible for unaccompanied ward rounds.
- Participate in out-patient clinics and perform related administrative duties.
- Applicants must have GMC registration or be eligible to join the register within 6 months.
- MRCP or equivalent.
