OverviewWe are looking for experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to take on a highly respected role in healthcare, ensuring doctors, physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs) maintain the highest standards of patient safety. This flexible role allows you to balance your current commitments while contributing to crucial health assessments and supervision.
Pay and Induction- Health Examiners: £515 per report and examination + £325 for training & induction days
- Medical Supervisors: £315 per report + £325 for training & induction days
- Assess the health of doctors, PAs and AAs and produce comprehensive reports on their fitness to practice.
- Monitor health and progress during periods of restricted practice, meeting with professionals every 12 weeks and producing reports every 3‑6 months.
- Serve as a credible authority in the field, providing evidence at Medical Practitioner Tribunals when required.
- Provide training and induction for new staff and supervise at least two doctors a year.
- Reimburse travel and subsistence expenses within the agreed framework.
- Consultant psychiatrist in practice within the UK.
- Fully registered with a current licence and had patient contact in the last two years.
- In good standing with the General Medical Council.
- Specialisation in general adult psychiatry, substance disorder/addictions psychiatry, old‑age psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, neurology or occupational health medicine.
- Strong analytical skills to assess large volumes of health and performance information.
- Demonstrated credibility and authority in the psychiatric field.
