Design Manager

Overview

Mivan is a dynamic and progressive specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor with a reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently recruiting an experienced Design Manager to lead our design teams across multiple projects. The successful candidate will manage the design process from project inception through to completion, ensuring all design information is fully coordinated and meets project requirements, client specifications plus budgetary and programme constraints.

• Lead and manage the full design process to ensure coordinated, accurate and compliant design delivery in line with the construction programme.
• Oversee consultants, subcontractors and internal design teams to ensure timely delivery within agreed scope, timeline and budget.
• Monitor design progress, manage approvals, chair design meetings and oversee the RFI process.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, Building Regulations, CDM requirements and relevant project standards.
• Provide technical support to the project team, proactively developing solutions to design and buildability issues.
• Monitor and report design costs v budget and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Ensure that all variations that occur during the design process are properly documented, approved and incorporated.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.

• A 3rd level qualification in a building/construction/design or architectural related subject
• Extensive experience in the design management of construction projects
• Excellent working knowledge of both 2D and 3D design
• Detailed knowledge of design processes and industry best practice
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of effective team management
• Demonstrated capability of juggling multiple projects while prioritizing effectively
• A knowledge of BIM processes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
