ACT is seeking a Design Manager Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves assisting the Design Manager in the design management process from pre-construction to project handover. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our core project team, ensuring the technical delivery of high-end residential projects.

Job Requirements- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience working on RIBA Stages 3-4, demonstrated through a portfolio/CV
- Bachelor’s in either Architecture and Architectural Technology
- Experience in high-end residential projects is preferred
- Familiarity with the technical requirements for Planning and Listed Building Consents/Heritage
- Familiarity with UK Building and Fire Regulations
- Knowledge of technical aspects related to M&E systems and structural coordination
- Experience with AutoCAD, Archi
CAD or Vectorworks is preferred but not essential - Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of construction detailing and design coordination
- Support the design team in daily coordination and management of design information from specialist consultants and subcontractors across multiple projects
- Monitor the technical design submittal and shop drawing process during RIBA Stages 4 and 5, ensuring compliance with project requirements, planning approvals and quality standards
- Oversee the production, review, and approval of samples, mock-ups and quality benchmarks
- Assist in managing the design-related Request for Information (RFI) process through to completion
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Information Release Schedule, identifying and resolving inconsistencies, discrepancies, design changes and missing information
- Prepare design reports and progress updates as required
- Support Design Team Meetings (DTMs) and workshops by assigning, recording, and tracking actions through to completion
- Collaborate with sub-contractors and suppliers to resolve design issues efficiently and proactively
- Assist in maintaining programme, budget control, and design quality throughout the project
- Ensure technical compliance with Planning and Listed Building Consents
- Visit project sites regularly to monitor progress and assist in resolving site coordination issues, documenting and approving outcomes
- Attend and contribute to project meetings with internal teams, clients, and their consultant teams
- Adhere to company-wide project reporting requirements related to design management, both internally and externally
