INTERIOR DESIGNER — Y2K VINTAGE & OTHER BRANDS

Mix of hybrid, office (NW2) and on site (national travel)

Fixed Term Contract – starting ASAP

We’re building retail brands centred around curated vintage – we currently operate Y2K Wholesale, The Big Thrift, Y2K Vintage and MSSY. Bootstrapped from the ground up and recognised on the 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 list, we’ve grown by putting customers first, constantly pushing ourselves to source the best vintage possible and ensuring we’re building with integrity everyday. 2025 saw huge YOY growth across the brands, now in 2026 we’re taking on huge new challenges as we expand nationally and explore new categories.

We’re growing which means we’re taking on new locations and simultaneously renovating a number of our existing spaces! Up til now, all renovations have been managed by our Founders, however, with the business being busier than ever we’re looking to introduce a designer to work in-house directly with our Founders to bring their brand vision to life in these upcoming projects.

Traditional design rules don’t apply here, we’re looking for someone who is highly creative and passionate about creating daring spaces which feel different to the norm. Our customer base is predominantly Gen Z so an understanding of how they shop and enjoy physical spaces is essential.

This role requires both creative ambition and technical discipline. We are looking for someone who can move fluidly between mood boards and build drawings and is comfortable working at pace.

• Develop initial spatial concepts for each store from founder’s direction and inspirations
• Produce detailed mood boards and material direction to develop and finalise each locations concept
• Present multiple creative routes where appropriate
• Iterate and refine concepts in close collaboration with the founder
• Ensure each store reflects a cohesive brand language while responding to site-specific context.

• Develop detailed interior design drawing packages suitable for contractor pricing and build
• Prepare elevations, joinery drawings, fixture layouts, finishes schedules and lighting plans as required
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and any other appointed personnel
• Ensure drawings are clear, accurate and build-ready

• Source and specify materials, finishes, wallpapers, flooring, fixtures, fittings and display elements
• Provide multiple sourcing options where required to achieve the right aesthetic within budget
• Develop detailed finishes schedules and specification documents
• Oversee sampling and ensure materials align with creative direction and budget
• Liaise directly with contractors, joiners, lighting suppliers and fabricators when required
• Manage material orders when required and delivery timelines
• Visit sites as required to ensure execution is in line with the planned design
• Act as the point of contact for all design related queries from the contractors
• Work across multiple projects simultaneously

• Proven experience delivering creative interior projects from concept through to completion
• Ability to produce detailed technical drawings independently
• Strong materials knowledge and sourcing ability
• Comfortable working closely with a highly involved founder
• Able to iterate quickly and handle fast decision cycles
• Confident managing suppliers and contractors
• Commercially aware and realistic about build constraints
