Position Overview

As a senior member of the Experience Design team, you’ll collaborate with user research and partner with product design to support people throughout their moving journeys on Rightmove. You’ll shape connected experiences across home‑hunting, renting and owning, use and contribute to our Design System so patterns, language and behaviours stay consistent and aligned. Reporting to the Content Design Manager, you’ll be based in our Soho London office two days a week, with occasional visits required to the Milton Keynes office.

Responsibilities
  • Own content design on key initiatives, shaping clear and connected experiences.
  • Hold responsibility for the clarity, coherence, and effectiveness of content across the experiences you shape.
  • Share accountability for content quality, consistency and risk across product areas, providing senior judgement beyond individual delivery areas and mentoring content designers.
  • Partner closely with product design, research, and product teams to shape user‑centred outcomes.
  • Bring clarity to complex problems and guide teams toward confident, informed decisions.
  • Support wider teams through prioritised work and drop‑in guidance, helping to scale content design across the organisation.
  • Use your own research and analysis, across user and market insights, to guide teams, inform decisions, and challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Work with product design and research to shape end‑to‑end journeys where content and structure align across touchpoints.
  • Define and evolve content patterns and structures, contributing to our Design System.
  • Frame challenges and identify opportunities early.
  • Facilitate alignment across product, design, research and marketing.
  • Champion accessible, inclusive content and embed it in how we work.
Candidate Profile
  • Passion for user experience and making the process of renting, buying, selling and moving easier.
  • Analytical thinking about user journeys and how content shapes behaviour.
  • Proactive, hands‑on contributor and collaborative team player.
  • Content‑design lens at all stages: research, information architecture, UI design, and strategic content embedding.
  • Time management to deliver on multiple problem spaces in a fast‑moving, agile environment.
  • Balance needs of multiple stakeholders to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication of decisions and logic.
  • Understanding of user behaviour and business success through qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Experiment with language using user research tools to test and learn.
  • Proactively hunt opportunities to impact defined problem areas.
  • Find new and innovative ways to use generative AI to think, plan and design faster and better.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience designing content within complex, multi‑touch‑point journeys and product environments.
  • Strong information architecture skills, shaping clear structures, content models and patterns.
  • A track record of shaping product thinking through evidence and strategic framing.
  • Confidence contributing to and evolving design systems.
  • Skill in facilitating workshops and guiding teams to alignment.
  • Literacy in accessibility standards and inclusive design, with confidence applying both in practice.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other designers.
  • Passion for user experience and for making the process of renting, buying, selling and moving easier.
  • Experience in marketplace or multi‑sided products, or curiosity to quickly build domain fluency.
  • Curiosity and openness to new tools and techniques, including thoughtful use of AI to improve quality and efficiency.
