The Senior CGI Data Model Artist will deliver high‑quality 3D assets for multiple digital and real‑time platforms, working closely with DCC tools, real‑time technologies and AI‑driven workflows. You will collaborate across projects, contribute to production pipelines, and uphold rigorous creative, technical and brand standards.
Responsibilities- DCC Asset Creation & Preparation
- Create, refine and maintain high‑quality 3D assets within the studio’s DCC pipeline (3ds Max, Maya, etc.).
- Build assets to meet project, technical and brand requirements, including clean topology, accurate scale/orientation, optimisation for downstream use, and consistent file structuring and naming conventions.
- Create hard‑surface and soft‑surface elements from scratch, interpreting references and design intent with photorealistic detail.
- Apply UV mapping, materials and shaders in line with studio standards.
- Prepare assets for efficient downstream use within real‑time environments.
- Maintain quality, consistency and brand custodianship across all delivered assets.
- Real‑Time Asset Setup & Layout
- Prepare and integrate assets into real‑time engines (Unreal Engine).
- Support asset import, setup and validation to ensure correct structure and readiness for use.
- Set up and adapt materials and material instances to meet project and brand requirements.
- Apply understanding of modern real‑time lighting workflows and their impact on asset and material behaviour.
- Work with modular or node‑based material systems, and support asset layout and scene organisation.
- Identify and troubleshoot asset, material or setup issues within real‑time environments.
- Collaborate with Project Leads and other disciplines to meet creative and technical expectations.
- Collaboration & Studio Contribution
- Deliver assets on time and to specification, supporting daily and weekly milestones.
- Collaborate closely with global teams, maintaining clear and professional communication.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of studio workflows, tools and best practices.
- Support and mentor junior team members as the department grows.
- Share knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the CG‑AI Studio.
- Bring a proactive, team‑focused and solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Demonstrable experience delivering photorealistic 3D assets and materials for high‑end visual or real‑time outputs.
- Strong hands‑on experience with 3ds Max and/or Maya.
- Solid understanding of 3D asset creation and preparation workflows, including UVs, materials, optimisation awareness and file structuring.
- Practical experience working with assets in real‑time engines (Unreal Engine highly desirable).
- Understanding of real‑time rendering considerations.
- Experience with CAD data preparation (IGES/NURBS) is beneficial.
- Experience working with Perforce or similar version control systems.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Automotive or high‑fidelity product visualisation experience.
- Experience working with large or complex data sets.
- Knowledge of tools such as PIXYZ, Rhino, Deltagen, Unreal Engine, VRay.
- Experience with environment or scene‑based asset creation.
- Basic scripting experience within DCC or real‑time environments (Blueprints, Python, MEL, MaxScript).
- Interest in AI‑assisted or data‑driven pipelines, including emerging tools and workflows that support asset creation, optimisation or automation.
- Awareness of evolving real‑time rendering, material and pipeline workflows.
