About Us

We are building a future where every student on the planet can access, enjoy, and benefit from the highest quality education. Since founding Knowunity straight out of high school in 2020 we've been committed to revolutionising how students learn.

Millions of students already use our AI learning companion weekly. We just raised €27m from strong Investors – one of Europe’s largest education rounds in recent years. The AI learning market is at an inflection point, finally enabling true personalisation at scale, and we’re determined to build the first AI learning unicorn in this space.

You will join a truly driven team of 60 hands‑on builders serving 1 billion students worldwide. If we execute on our product vision, you will have built something that transforms education globally.

Mission

As a Senior Product Designer, you will own high‑impact product areas from discovery to delivery, shaping user journeys, crafting delightful UI, and pushing the product forward through strong product sense and visual craft. You will report directly to Gregor, CPO at Knowunity.

Responsibilities
  • Own large product initiatives end‑to‑end: ship the design from user insights to wireframes to shipped implementation.
  • Define success metrics with Product and leverage data to iterate quickly.
  • Raise design quality across the product: continuously test the app, identify UX/UI flaws, and propose pragmatic improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure high‑fidelity implementation and smooth handoffs.
  • Champion design quality as a first‑class priority.
  • Bring strong visual design, motion, and interaction details that elevate the experience.
  • Apply gamification thoughtfully to drive engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes.
  • Ship at a fast cadence, run structured experiments, and document clear decisions.
  • Partner with Product on early ideas and convert them into clear, testable designs.
Impact
  • Massive impact – used by 6M+ students today with room to 10x–20x.
  • Greenfield opportunity – freedom to reinvent flows and raise the bar in a fast‑growing app.
  • Design‑led product vision – space to craft joy and polish, micro‑interactions, animations, playful visuals, and thoughtful motion.
  • Mission‑driven – education with real outcomes – accessibility, motivation, and better learning at scale.
Mindset
  • Think in systems, sweat the pixels – zoom out to shape the user journey and zoom in to perfect the details.
  • Design with intent – every decision serves the user and the business, not just aesthetics.
  • Thrive in ambiguity – move fast with 80% context, take ownership, iterate toward excellence.
  • Leverage AI – as a force multiplier in everything you do.
  • Users first – interact with our product daily and deeply care about our users and their needs.
  • Values excellence over comfort – mediocrity isn’t in your vocabulary.
Track record

You’ve shaped a B2C startup environment, owning everything from UX to UI, and bringing product ideas to life through delightful, high‑performing interfaces. You’ve balanced creative ambition with business impact, and you’ve seen first‑hand how great design can move key metrics. Whether designing a growth experiment, onboarding flow, or gamified feature—you’re fluent in translating user needs into product success.

Must‑haves
  • 3–5 years of experience in product design.
  • Proven B2C product experience (startup, agency, or freelance).
  • End‑to‑end ownership: concept → UI → iteration.
  • Strong product sense and ability to define success metrics.
  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills.
  • Expertise in Figma and interactive prototyping.
  • Data‑informed decision‑making mindset.
  • Strong collaboration with Product and Engineering.
Nice to haves
  • Illustration skills to enhance brand and in‑product storytelling.
  • Experience in gaming or highly engaging consumer apps.
