Laura Hammett is a London-based interior architecture and design studio specialising in luxury residential projects for private clients and property developers in the UK and internationally. Recognised as Designer of the Year 2025 at the Design et al awards, the studio is renowned for its exceptional attention to detail and expertise. Laura Hammett offers comprehensive design services tailored to meet individual client needs, styles, and budgets, overseeing projects from concept to completion.

The team collaborates with skilled craftsmen and applies an in-depth understanding of elements such as lighting, bathroom design, textiles, and specialist finishes to deliver exquisite spaces.

Role Description

This full-time hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom involves working as a Senior FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) Designer for a 12-month maternity cover. The Designer will oversee end-to-end FF&E project management, from concept development and sourcing to installation and styling. Daily responsibilities include creating design presentations, selecting and specifying finishes and materials, liaising with suppliers, coordinating procurement, and ensuring projects align with client expectations and brand standards.

The role requires working on-site and remotely, providing flexibility within the greater London area.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in FF&E design, with strong skills in sourcing, specifying, and curating furniture, finishes, and textiles
  • Proficiency in creating detailed presentations and technical FF&E documentation
  • Project management experience, including procurement coordination, supplier communication, and on-site installation
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders and understand client needs
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and FF&E specification platforms
  • A meticulous eye for detail, creativity, and a deep understanding of luxury design aesthetics
  • Experience in high-end residential interior design is a significant advantage
  • Relevant qualifications in Interior Design or a related field
Requirements
  • Experience:

    Minimum 5-6 years of experience in luxury residential interior design.
  • Skills:

    Proficient in Microsoft Office, Vectorworks/AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and budget management software (e.g., Est iMac).
  • Communication:
    Fluent in spoken and written English with strong visual and verbal communication skills.
  • Location:

    Must be able to work from the southwest London office on a hybrid basis.
