About HaringeyHaringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Aboutthe Role
As a Customer Relations Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of our leisure centres—supporting residents in improving their health and wellbeing. You’ll be responsible for greeting visitors, understanding their needs, and promoting a full range of memberships, activities, courses and events. You will ensure smooth access control, support safe operations, assist with bookings and app guidance, and handle customer enquiries with confidence, creativity and professionalism.
This role offers variety, from conducting tours to supporting marketing activity, and operates on a shift rota including mornings, evenings and weekends.
You’ll be part of a friendly, dedicated Leisure Services team within the Environment and Resident Experience Directorate. Working closely with Operations Managers, Duty Managers, Sales Officers and frontline staff, you’ll help maintain high customer satisfaction, safe service delivery and efficient day‑to‑day operations. The team collaborates openly, supports one another, and plays a key role in delivering positive experiences for Haringey residents across our leisure centres.
You may occasionally work across multiple sites depending on service needs.
You’re approachable, confident and passionate about delivering excellent customer service. You can handle challenging situations with empathy and calm, communicate clearly, and work effectively with staff and customers alike. You’re proactive, able to upsell services, comfortable learning new systems, and motivated to support a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. Experience in a leisure centre, fitness facility, hotel or retail front‑of‑house role is beneficial, but most importantly you bring enthusiasm, reliability and a commitment to helping residents stay active and engaged.
