As our busy summer season draws near, we are now filling the last remaining positions in our Front of House teams - this now includes 2x temporary Deputy Team Leader roles. It is important for our teams to be fully-staffed during the summer.

Roles Remaining

Seasonal Welcome Host:

  • 1x 15 hr (Sat/Sun) (5 months) - Could be split for Sat OR Sun
  • 1x 8 hr (Sat) (5 months)
Seasonal Welcome Host Deputy Team Leader
  • 2x 38.5 hr (6 months)
Permanent Welcome Host
  • 1x 36 hr per week

As part of our Admissions (Welcome) team, you will be a welcoming presence on Tower Hill and at the main entrance, directing and engaging with our visitors, answering questions and helping to enrich their experience. You will be selling tickets to our visitors, ensuring that they all receive a warm and friendly welcome, while providing them with everything they need to enjoy their visit to the full.

As a Deputy Team Leader, you will be helping to lead the Hosts team, support colleagues, and manage escalated customer enquiries.

As the first point of contact for visitors from around the world, you will set the tone for their entire visit. Through a warm welcome, efficient service, and confident engagement, you’ll help ensure every visitor’s experience starts smoothly and memorably — both indoors and outdoors.

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver a friendly, professional, and engaging welcome to all visitors at entry points and ticket offices.
  • Greet, assist, and proactively engage with visitors in a confident, efficient, and approachable manner.
  • Process ticket sales, memberships, upgrades, and guidebook purchases accurately using admissions systems.
  • Provide clear, helpful information about the Tower of London, daily events, facilities, accessibility, and other Historic Royal Palaces sites.
  • Welcome and direct visitors throughout the attraction, supporting smooth visitor flow.
  • Support safe and effective queue management, group arrivals (including schools and tours), and busy peak periods.
  • Work flexibly between outdoor welcome roles and indoor admissions areas, adapting to operational needs and varying weather conditions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Admissions, Retail, Security, and Visitor Services to deliver a seamless and memorable visitor experience.
About You

You will need to be a team player, who will relish the challenge of a busy working environment. You should enjoy exploring new and creative ways of working that add real value to the customer experience.

  • Enthusiastic, approachable, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Enjoy meeting people from all over the world and making every interaction welcoming and positive.
  • Clear and confident when communicating with a wide range of visitors (additional languages are an advantage).
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a busy, fast-paced, visitor-facing environment.
  • Happy working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A reliable, punctual team player who takes pride in professionalism and high standards.
  • Previous customer service or admissions experience is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided.

For Deputy Team Leader - Team leadership and customer service expertise is highly beneficial.
