About Ignite Hubs
Ignite Hubs is an award-winning education charity for children and young people. We inspire the next generation of STEM trailblazers, creative thinkers, and digital whizzes. We target girls, those from disadvantaged backgrounds and ethnic minority backgroundss, as they are hugely underrepresented in the tech, STEM and creative industries. Our vision is a future where technology and innovation are shaped by diverse minds, truly reflecting the world we live in.
We currently teach coding, STEM, Maths and Creativity to over 200 students each week and have positively impacted more than 1,000 children and young people since we started. Our educational offering includes eleven weekly online classes and four weekly in-person classes delivered in libraries across Southwark, SE London, during term time.
Alongside our live programmes, we are currently developing an innovative online Learning & Careers platform which not only provides access to our courses but also helps young people connect their learning to real-world careers and job opportunities. The platform will feature organisations and spotlights on real professionals in tech, STEM and creative roles.
About the Course:
Story & Design
Young people today need strong digital literacy, storytelling, and visual communication skills to access careers in the creative and media sectors, including journalism, design, marketing, and digital content creation.
Creativity is a powerful tool for self-expression and advocacy, particularly for young people whose voices are often underrepresented. This course provides a supportive space for learners to explore their lived experiences, engage with social and civic issues, and develop confidence in sharing their ideas.
We will deliver a free onsite course at John Harvard Library, London SE1, for around 15 to 20 students aged 11 to 18, launching in the Summer Term (22 April to 1
July 2026). Depending on interest, it will continue in the Autumn Term (from September 2026) and Spring Term (from January 2027).
