Lead Seamstress

The position will be based in our Islington Rework studio. The role will involve learning how to make our current classic VT rework styles which include our football reworks, leather racers, designer leather corsets and jackets, examples of our current reworks can be seen on our website here:

We are always expanding and developing new designs within the rework department and so a key part of the role will be adding to this development by incorporating design ideas for upcoming collections and then progressing these by pattern drafting and then fully sewing the garments.

• Sampling and fitting new designs
• Advising on new designs and giving input into collection ideas
• Completely making full garments including pieces reworked from designer items for our Selfridges space
• Supporting the wider rework team

• Previous experience in deconstructing and reworking garments is crucial. Understanding of how to achieve the best fabric utilisation when creating from damaged garments whilst still maintaining a good design.
• Understanding of working with different fabric types and experience sewing heavy duty fabrics including leather.
• An interest in vintage and sustainable fashion
• Experienced in Pattern drafting and fitting garments
• 5 years minimum in production sewing of garments on industrial machines
• Previous experience in creating a wide range of garments - due to the vast amount of styles we produce!

• Full time 5 days a week
