PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 28,000 - 34,000 per annum depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF

THE ROLE

BBC Radio Humberside is at the heart of the community of East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire and this is your chance to shape the Breakfast show as it continues to grow its audience. As daytime producer (Breakfast) you will be a key part of the team selecting the content and shaping the creative production of the show Monday-Friday. You will liaise with the multiplatform teams and add some production sparkle to all our content.

You’ll also be able to spot content which will create stand‑out visualised moments on social media, connecting with new audiences. You will have a detailed understanding of our audiences and the area we serve.

The Radio Humberside team are ambitious and creative and the successful candidate will be able to help drive that ambition across socials, online and TV. We like a big project, including the countdown to Coldplay’s concerts in Hull or a Santa bus tour across the region. Our sport team works closely with the Breakfast producer to bring the pride and passion of football and Rugby League to our listeners.

YOUR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Produce the Breakfast show for the next day
  • Edit and cue content provided by the Local Story Team and Story Hub
  • Forward plan for the shows including special editorial moments
  • Identify social media moments and liaise with social media producer to make the most of those
  • Work with the sport team to identify stand‑out people based content
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Knowledge and highly skilled in digital audio editing
  • Ability to write strong programme cues with focus on target audience
  • Team player with resilience and tenacity for finding new guests
  • Evidence of creative production
