Job Description & How to Apply Below
Flux News are hiring a News Fast Turnaround Editor to deliver rapid, publish-ready edits from daily live hits and long-form recordings, producing fast VOD turnaround without compromising clarity, pacing, or brand consistency. The successful candidate will work closely with the News Studio Supervisor/Operator for ingest, sync, and shot selection. Coordinating with producers, presenters, and the Head of Production/Studio Manager for editorial intent and publishing priorities will be a key part of this role
Key responsibilities- Ingest and organise footage from vMix and/or ATEM ISO recordings.
- Sync, multi-cam assemble, and cut live hits into tight VOD versions (remove dead air, tighten pacing).
- Turn around clips quickly for distribution as required (highlights, segments, cutdowns).
- Edit and finish the daily 20-30 minute long-form show: structure, pacing, polish, audio clarity.
- Maintain technical standards: dialogue levels, clean edits, basic colour balance, consistent branding.
- Export and deliver versions to platform specs; maintain naming conventions and archive discipline.
- Work fast without chaos: clean project organisation, repeatable templates, predictable handoffs.
- London studio producing 4 live hits per day plus one long-form show (20-30 mins).
- Hybrid studio: vMix + ATEM (ATEM used for camera switching and ISO recording).
- Footage sources include vMix recordings and/or ATEM ISO camera records.
- Output supports a faux-24/7 channel with bespoke playout and L-shape graphics system.
- Strong Premiere Pro proficiency with speed under deadline pressure.
- Experience editing news, talk, or live studio content for VOD.
- Solid audio competence for dialogue (leveling, basic noise reduction, intelligibility).
- Good judgement on pacing, clarity, and what to cut when time is tight.
- Highly organised with reliable file/project hygiene.
- Willingness to work 5 days per week in the office, 8am-6pm.
- Multicam workflows using ISO angles; waveform-based sync or timecode workflows.
- After Effects / motion graphics templating (nice-to-have, not required).
- Captioning/subtitles workflows and platform-native publishing familiarity.
