We are looking for up to 10 Audio-Visual Trainees who will undertake a 9-10 week training scheme with assessment points, learning everything needed to become a Live Event Technician. Training covers four main themes:
- Audio setup and operation
- Video and projection system setup and operation
- Lighting setup and operation
- 5-star Customer Service training
After the intensive training, you will be placed at one of our central London locations where you will continue learning on the job, supported by venue teams and learning partners.
This is a full-time permanent role with expected progression to Technician.
Ideal candidate: comfortable in a 5-star hospitality environment, excellent communication, ability to work well under pressure, passion for technology. No prior experience required; an interest in live events is beneficial.
Before applying please ensure you are comfortable with:- Working hours:
start early, end late, weekends etc depending on event schedules - Limited annual leave during peak busy times
- Professional approach in a 5-star corporate events environment, including strict grooming and uniform standards
- 9-10 week trainee course mainly at our Uxbridge site, followed by a full-time role at a central London venue. Commuting requirement: you must be able to travel to Uxbridge for the course and then to London permanently
- AV Technicians may work at other venues as required
- Drive Results:
Ensure flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment - Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly
- Do the Right Thing: comply with all company security and safety measures
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE
- Report all health and safety issues to the HSE Manager or Project Manager onsite
- Work as part of a team on larger scale projects as required
- Deliver World Class Service: strive to exceed expectations of internal and external customers
- Values People: maintain positive relationships with all clients through effective communication
- Meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and equipment setup is working properly
- Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day
- Understand and foster the hotel/venue/client relationship
- Understand technical aspects and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with equipment and software
- Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner
- Do the Right Thing: understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately
- Use equipment sheets to determine scheduled setup and strike equipment
- Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred (but not required)
- A keen interest in live events or the audio-visual industry is ideal
- Comfortable working in a smart 5-star environment
- This role requires 9-10 weeks of paid training in Uxbridge, then progression to a permanent role in London
