About

The Role

Wiley's Comprehensive Editorial Evaluation Team (CEET) is responsible for managing the peer‑review process and decision‑making for a portfolio of over 120 in‑house journals across physical, life, and health sciences, including renowned titles such as Advanced Science, Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie, and others. CEET is expanding and is looking for an additional Assistant Editor.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Be responsible for the organization of the peer‑review process and editorial decision‑making from submission until acceptance and export to production.
  • Be an active member of a global editorial team and collaborate with international colleagues daily.
  • Interact with authors and reviewers worldwide.
  • Be involved in strategically acquiring new content for our journals – e.g., commissioning invited articles and planning special issues or series.
  • Contribute to workflow optimization project work groups across departments.
  • Gain on‑the‑job experience in many aspects of scholarly publishing.
We Are Looking For People Who Have
  • An advanced degree (PhD) in photonics or optical materials and additional postdoctoral experience would be beneficial.
  • A passion for science and its communication, with a willingness to broaden knowledge across a spectrum of research areas.
  • Self‑motivated, diplomatic, flexible, with outstanding organizational, time‑management, and communication skills, and excellent command of the English language.
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently with colleagues in teams across global office locations.
  • Basic knowledge of the peer‑review process and prior experience with a manuscript handling system (e.g., Editorial Manager or Scholar One) is advantageous.
Salary Range

24,500 GBP to 33,567 GBP
