Ladieswear Garment Technologist at Whispering Smith
Location: London, W1W
Position: Full-time

OverviewWe are seeking an enthusiastic Garment Technologist to join our dynamic wholesale clothing company. This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop within a fast‑paced environment, working closely with design, merchandising, and suppliers to deliver high‑quality ladies wear products.
Key Responsibilities- Work across ladies wear categories such as wovens, jerseys, loungewear, nightwear, swimwear, and underwear.
- Provide technical advice from initial design through to bulk production, ensuring garments fit correctly and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate daily with design and merchandising teams and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and factories.
- Create technical specifications from original samples or design CADs.
- Measure samples from the 1st fit stage to bulk production and manage the fit process through to production approval.
- Lead fit sessions with the design team and independently as required.
- Send clear fit comments with amended specs, images, and drawings to factories.
- Advise on grading for bulk production and approve production samples.
- Maintain critical paths and coordinate with merchandising teams to meet deadlines.
- Manage own workload to avoid delays and uphold production schedules.
- Advise suppliers on testing requirements, including base testing and chemical restrictions.
- Check and approve test reports and create wash care label layouts based on results.
- Coordinate in‑house testing when necessary.
- Oversee customer accounts such as ASOS/M&M and own brand stock.
- Good administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Organised, accurate, and detail‑oriented.
- Enthusiastic learner who thrives in a team environment.
- Previous experience in a garment technology or technical design role is essential.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).
Entry level
This is a fully office‑based role, five days a week. Flexible working hours are available.
