Senior Disrepair Surveyor

Overview

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Senior Disrepair Surveyor to work with a housing association based in Ealing. This will be an interim position paying 400p/d Umbrella.

The successful candidate will need to have experience in managing surveyors.

• Assist the Senior Technical Manager in the Legal Disrepair project to significantly reduce the number of cases currently open.
• Undertake complex surveying activities related to Legal Disrepair cases, including acting as an Expert Witness for the client and managing cases through the Disrepair process to conclusion.
• Provide technical leadership as a subject matter expert, undertake specification writing, project management and post-works inspections.
• Carry out surveys at properties where a Legal Disrepair case has been raised; produce high-quality, detailed reports for submission to the Claimant's Legal team.
• Provide focused expert advice on matters related to disrepair, including thorough investigations to diagnose causes and appropriate remedies.
• Issue works to contractors based on survey findings and manage the works through to completion within agreed timescales.
• Drive forward works already agreed to a swift and satisfactory conclusion.
• Maintain communication with the client s Legal team to ensure progress and timely conclusions of Disrepair cases.
• Ensure housing properties comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements; stay informed about changes in legislation and industry standards affecting housing associations.
• Ensure all projects are CDM compliant and provide professional and technical advice including serving as an Expert Witness in hearings and legal proceedings.
• Carry out post-works inspections to verify completion to the Scott Schedule and required standards.
• Monitor project expenditure and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Prepare specifications and tender documents in compliance with the client s procurement policy and financial Regulations; review and authorize contractor invoices.
• Implement controls to monitor and report on key areas such as cost, duration of works, cases in jeopardy, and Health & Safety.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators and conduct regular reviews with contractors for continual improvement.
• Liaise with the Decant Team to minimise time spent out of customers  homes and reduce costs to the business where applicable.
