Highways Inspector

Onsite – 5 days per week Monday to Friday

Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client to facilitate the appointment of an experienced Interim Highways Inspector to support the delivery and inspection of highways works, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across the network.

• Inspect highways works on-site (carriageway, footway, kerbing, drainage, minor civils) to ensure quality and specification compliance.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress, and workmanship; identify defects and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure works comply with relevant standards, health & safety requirements, and local authority procedures.
• Record site inspections, produce clear reports/notes, and maintain accurate records (photos, snagging, completion signoffs).
• Liaise with contractors, supervisors, residents, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and keep works moving.
• Support completion processes, including snagging, re‑inspections, and handover documentation.

• Experience working within a Local Authority (or public sector highways) setting.
• Strong background inspecting highways / street works / civil works and managing quality on-site.
• Confident stakeholder management skills, including dealing with contractors and public enquiries.
• Good working knowledge of highways health & safety and inspection best practice.

This role is an initial 3‑month contract offering £250 per day inside IR35. You will be required to be onsite.
