Building Safety Surveyor

Overview

Building Safety Surveyor is required to work within the Building Safety team and the wider consultancy of a multidisciplinary practice providing integrated design and build services.

• Conducting façade and internal fire safety risk assessments and investigations.
• Producing detailed technical reports supported by photographic evidence.
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor construction quality, safety and compliance.
• Ensuring all built elements align with approved drawings, specifications and standards.
• Identifying and reporting defects, risks and non-conformances.
• Maintaining clear site records, photos and concise inspection reports.
• Working with contractors and project teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Conducting peer reviews.
• Ensuring projects progress safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Completing EWS1 (External Wall System) form for buildings between 11-18m.
• Travel as required beyond London and the South East.

• Good technical understanding of building regulations, NHBC standards, high rise buildings and façades.
• Experience inspecting fire safety measures in new build and construction projects.

• Level 6 construction qualification or hold an HNC/HND/construction-related degree.
• Membership of one of the following: RICS / CIOB / CABE / ICWCI / MIFireE beneficial but not essential.

This is a hybrid working role. The company offers a salary of £60k-£70k depending on experience, along with pension, healthcare and a comprehensive benefits package.
