We are seeking three experienced Site Engineers (Civil) to join our construction projects across the London area. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and health and safety requirements. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, site management skills, and effective communication to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and coordinate daily construction site activities in line with project plans and programmes
- Ensure works are carried out in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Manage and supervise site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Monitor progress against programme and report updates to the Project Manager
- Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality control, and site safety at all times
- Identify, resolve, and escalate technical and site-related issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Assist with setting out, surveying, and technical problem-solving on site
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress logs, and quality documentation
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and engineers as required
- Support efficient use of materials, labour, and plant to avoid delays and wastage
- Promote positive working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Essential Requirements:
- Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on civil or construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and site procedures
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Competent in maintaining site documentation and reports
- Willingness to work across various sites within the London area
Desirable:
- CSCS card
- Experience with setting-out equipment and surveying tools
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Previous experience working on UK construction sites
- Permanent, full-time employment
- Standard 37.5-hour working week
