O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major healthcare scheme based in Southwest London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high‑profile project delivering critical healthcare infrastructure.
The RoleAs Mechanical Construction Manager, you will take full responsibility for the mechanical package on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Take responsibility for health and safety on site
- Lead by example by setting, monitoring and enforcing high standards of safety and quality
- Support the Project Manager in managing and supervising site personnel
- Assume leadership on site in line with the site safety plan and project rules
- Ensure operatives have the relevant training and expertise to carry out their work safely and professionally
- Manage labour resources to ensure efficient delivery
- Complete and submit timesheets accurately and on time
- Liaise with payroll regarding site‑related queries
- Maintain discipline on site, report incidents, and take appropriate action
- Manage and support apprentices in line with relevant training standards
- Assist with planning labour and material resources
- Procure materials using the purchasing system in the most cost‑effective manner
- Ensure plant is properly maintained, secured, and off‑hired promptly when no longer required
- Monitor and control costs where possible
- Inspect materials prior to installation to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Assist in the successful handover of systems to the client
- Escalate any site constraints impacting productivity to the Project Manager
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
- Recognised mechanical qualifications
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Construction Manager role
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental systems
- Ability to manage and motivate site teams effectively
- Experience working on healthcare or large‑scale commercial projects (desirable)
