What’s The Opportunity
We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor / Chartered Quantity Surveyor with proven experience offering cost management services to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with senior team members, supporting the delivery of a variety of projects across London & the South East, while supporting junior team members.
We work on a diverse range of projects, including in the Healthcare, Education, Residential, Heritage, Commercial & Data Centre sectors, with contract values from £500k - £200 million.
What you need to do to be effective in this role- Day to day point of contact for the cost management of projects from £500k - £200m
- Provide advice on contracts, tendering & procurement strategies, risk management and value engineering, across both JCT & NEC suites of contract
- Provide cost advice across the RIBA Stages, including preparation of feasibility estimates, cost plans, pre-tender estimates, as well as post contract
- Lead client facing meetings, working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Advise clients and project design teams on cost implications of different construction methods & materials to ensure the project remains within budget
- Undertake measurement in accordance with defined standards
- Prepare, issue, evaluate and report on tenders
- Prepare contract documentation
- Manage project costs during construction and negotiate final accounts
- Agreement of monthly valuations
- Preparation of monthly cost reports
Valuing and agreeing post contract variations - Undertake cost research, market testing, data capture etc
- Contribute to / manage cost benchmarking development
- Assist with compliance & QA requirements
- Develop relationships with existing clients, consultants and contractors.
- MRICS Chartered, or working towards
- Understanding of JCT & NEC contract suites & varied procurement routes
- Experience of relevant QS software applications, CostX, Bluebeam etc.
- Personable way of working, with a track record of good Client relationships
- Project leadership experience highly desirable
- Commercially focused.
- You will be professional, with good communication skills
- Self-starter with problem solving attitude.
