Senior Quantity Surveyor | Mid-Tier Main Contractor | Mid-Sussex Salary: £70,000 - £80,000  Package

Location:

Site & Office Based (Commutable from Mid-Sussex) The Opportunity Are you an established Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a role with a reputable, mid-tier Main Contractor that values fair play and long-term relationships? We are seeking a site-savvy Senior QS to lead projects ranging from £3m to £7m across the Sussex region. This is a dual site and office-based position, perfect for a professional who enjoys being close to the build while maintaining high-level commercial control.

Our client is a stable, well-respected contractor known for their ethical approach to construction and their commitment to treating subcontractors fairly.

Key Responsibilities As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial ownership of your projects. While you will have support from the wider commercial teamparticularly during the procurement phaseyou will be the lead figure on-site. Commercial Management:
Full responsibility for CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and monthly reporting. Procurement:
Leading the procurement of sub-contractor packages with internal support. Valuations & Variations:
Managing interim valuations and accurately pricing variations to ensure project profitability. Measurement:
Carrying out detailed measuring and "taking off" from drawings. Systems:
Utilizing the Causeway estimating system to manage project costs (experience with Causeway is a significant advantage). Final Accounts:
Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.

The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a grounded, technically minded professional who has "grown up" on-site and understands the realities of a live construction environment.

Experience:

7-10 years of experience running projects on-site for a Main Contractor. Stability: A proven track record of seeing projects through from inception to completion. Technical

Strong understanding of measurement, taking off, and contract law.

You must live within a 35-mile radius of the Haywards Heath area to ensure a sustainable commute to our regional sites and head office.
