About the Role

An established specialist contractor delivering high-quality groundworks, RC frame and structural packages across the London and South East region is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen their commercial team.

This is a key role focused on pricing complex structural and civil packages for residential and commercial projects, including basements, reinforced concrete frames, substructures and associated groundworks.

The successful candidate will play a major part in shaping tenders from first enquiry through to final submission, working closely with pre-construction, commercial and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for groundworks, RC frame and structural packages

Carry out detailed take-offs from drawings and specifications

Build up rates using first principles and supply chain input

Send out and analyse subcontractor and supplier enquiries

Produce tender summaries, cost plans, and commercial risk reviews

Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings

Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks

Work closely with the project and commercial teams to ensure a smooth handover

Required Experience

Proven experience in estimating groundworks and RC frame packages

Strong understanding of structural construction methods

Confident working from technical drawings and specifications

Experience in pricing projects in the London & South East market

Commercially astute with strong attention to detail

Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced tender environment

Desirable

Background in specialist subcontractor or structural contractor environments

Experience with basements or complex structural packages

Knowledge of current market rates and supply chain
