Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor; Temporary

Position: Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor (Temporary)
A leading UK main contractor specialising in high-quality commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments across London and the South East. Our Client are hiring for a Quantity Surveyor to work within a team delivering a £30m cut and carve scheme in the City of London. This is a long-term opportunity on a technically challenging project, offering excellent exposure and development through to project completion in 2027.

The Role

Working as part of the site-based commercial team, you will support the commercial management of the project from pre-construction through delivery and final account.

Key responsibilities include:

* Assisting with the procurement and management of subcontract packages

* Cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management

* Valuations, variations, and change control

* Subcontractor account administration

* Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager

* Ensuring commercial procedures and controls are maintained.

About You

* Experience working as an Intermediate / Project Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor

* Background in commercial, refurbishment, or cut and carve projects preferred

* Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and cost control

* Ambitious, detail-focused, and keen to develop within a leading contractor

* Good communication skills and confidence working in a site-based role.
