A leading contractor/developer is seeking an experienced Project / Senior Quantity Surveyor with a groundworks and civils background to join the commercial team on a high‑profile £50m new build commercial development in London. This is a challenging, hands‑on role offering the chance to work on complex groundworks, foundations, and early‑stage civils packages while supporting the full project lifecycle.

• Freelance / contract role outside IR35
• Flexible working arrangements (1‑2 days per week from home)
• Exposure to a high‑value, high‑profile project with strong long‑term prospects
• Opportunity to work within a structured, high‑performing commercial team

• Manage procurement and coordination of subcontract packages, with a focus on groundworks and civils
• Oversee post‑contract duties, including cost control, commercial reporting, and subcontractor management
• Support the project from pre‑construction through to final account
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure cost‑effective, timely delivery

• Degree‑qualified Quantity Surveyor (MRICS preferred)
• 4‑10+ years’ experience working with main contractors, developers, or subcontractors on groundworks and civil packages
• Strong understanding of procurement, subcontract management, and full project life‑cycle
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale new build schemes
• Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and organisational ability

• Day rate £350–£475, dependent on experience (freelance, outside IR35)
