Position: Working Foreman
Location: Greater London

We have an exciting opportunity for a Working Foreperson/Foreman to supervise our expanding and dynamic team delivering on aftercare and small refurbishment works to our clients in London.

In this role, you’ll complete ad‑hoc works and project defect tasks safely, efficiently, and to our exceptional standards. You’ll also supervise and coordinate subcontractors on‑site, ensuring every project is completed to ACT’s exacting quality and service expectations.

Job Requirements
  • Relevant trade qualification, preferably in carpentry, or plumbing.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance and construction.
  • Experience in the use of a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • Full clean U.K driving licence.
  • Able to use a handheld device to manage tasks, materials and contractors.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience of working in the high‑end residential sector.

  • Competency in use of Tradify and all Procore Site management tools
Job Responsibilities General
  • Ad‑hoc works and defects:
    Carry out works on site to rectify project defects, or ad‑hoc works requested by a client.
  • Compliance and Rules:
    Ensure that all persons on site including contractors comply with ACT standards including behaviour, presentation, PPE and craftsmanship.
  • Task Management:
    Delegate and manage weekly tasks for yourself and contractors and provide quality control and sign off for jobs completed.
  • Preparation and Tools:
    Prepare working areas for operatives and trades, organise tools and tool hire, and manage associated records.
  • Material Management:
    Maintain stock levels and order specified materials and general consumables as required.
  • Vehicle: ensure that your vehicle is always kept clean and tidy; stock levels and tools should be maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Contractor Management:
    Assist in managing contractors on site, ensuring clients are kept informed and ACT standards are maintained.
  • Time Sheets:
    Maintain daily entry of time sheets.
Task Management
  • Lookahead Review:
    Review upcoming works with the Property Manager, ensuring resources and materials are in place for when required.
  • Task Setup:
    Schedule tasks to client’s requirements and ensure they are provided with regular updates.
  • Progress Reporting:
    Identify and report progress or potential delays, offering solutions to aftercare management.
Communication & Information Management
  • Positive Culture:
    Foster a positive, open, and honest culture, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
  • Feedback and Concerns:
    Maintain a clear line of communication for feedback, notifying any concerns to the Property Manager.
  • Information Requirements:
    Identify and report any site‑based information discrepancies and notify Aftercare management.
  • Documentation:
    Take and upload Job photos with descriptions, document additional works or variations, and add to Tradify.
Quality and Accuracy
  • Supervision and Checks:
    Supervise subcontractors to ensure high standards, perform quality control checks for ongoing and completed works.
  • Photo Documentation:
    Take extensive photos of ongoing and completed works, for accurate record keeping.
  • Defect Management:
    Ensure that defects are correctly identified as such and carry out/manage the completion of defect list items.
  • Protection and Cleaning:
    Adequate protection should always be used to protect the client’s property whilst works are carried out, and properties are left spotless on completion of works. Photos should be taken as evidence.
Health & Safety
  • Policy Knowledge:
    Demonstrate good knowledge of the company’s health and safety policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Training:
    Ensure all training is kept up to date on the company portal.
  • Subcontractor Compliance:
    Ensure subcontractors adopt ACT‑Developments’ policies and safe systems of work.
  • Safety Inspections:
    Undertake inspections and surveillance visits to validate safe working practices.
  • Safety Management:
    Proactively manage those who fail to consider health and safety, ensure compliance with safe systems of work, and report defects in plant and equipment.
