About the roleWe are looking for an experienced Construction Buyer to take ownership of the procurement process across multiple projects, ensuring materials, services, and suppliers are managed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
- Raise and manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to understand material requirements, schedules, and budgets
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery
- Manage stock levels, lead times, and logistics to ensure efficient project progression
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and supply chain improvements
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and industry regulations
We're seeking a Construction Buyer who thrives in fast-paced, detail-focused environments and can manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously. About you :
- Proven experience as a Construction Buyer, Project Buyer, or Procurement Officer within the construction sector
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
- Knowledge of construction materials, subcontractor services, and supplier markets
- Experience with contract management, purchase orders, and procurement software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally as required
