Our client is a Tipton-based specialist contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering refurbishment, maintenance, and new-build projects across the West Midlands. Known for technical excellence, outstanding service, and successful commercial projects of over £1million, they are growing fast, making this a great time to join an ambitious and collaborative team.

We are looking for an experienced Construction Buyer to take ownership of the procurement process across multiple projects, ensuring materials, services, and suppliers are managed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project requirements.

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
• Raise and manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to understand material requirements, schedules, and budgets
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery
• Manage stock levels, lead times, and logistics to ensure efficient project progression
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, and supply chain improvements
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and industry regulations

We're seeking a Construction Buyer who thrives in fast-paced, detail-focused environments and can manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously. About you :

• Proven experience as a Construction Buyer, Project Buyer, or Procurement Officer within the construction sector
• Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
• Knowledge of construction materials, subcontractor services, and supplier markets
• Experience with contract management, purchase orders, and procurement software
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally as required
