PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Sub Agent in London/Kent for a reputable contractor within the Civils industry. They are seeking people with earthworks, enabling works and groundworks experience. More information below!
Job SummaryThe Sub Agent supports the Site Agent and Project Manager in the day-to-day management of civil construction projects. The role focuses on coordinating site activities, managing subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of daily site activities
- Supervise subcontractors and direct labour to ensure productivity and quality
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
- Monitor programme progress and assist with short-term planning (look-ahead programmes)
- Coordinate plant, materials, and labour requirements
- Support cost control by tracking variations, resources, and site expenditure
- Assist with site inspections, quality assurance, and ITP compliance
- Liaise with engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Assist in resolving site issues and technical queries
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies
- Ensure risk assessments, SWMS, and method statements are implemented
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site inductions
- Identify hazards and assist in implementing corrective actions
- Previous experience in a Sub Agent, Site Engineer, or supervisory role within civil construction
- Strong understanding of civil works such as earthworks, drainage, pavements, concrete, and services
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Good planning, coordination, and organisational skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Relevant safety certification (WHS / CSCS or equivalent)
- First Aid certification
- Experience working under major civil contracts (advantageous)
- Proactive and solutions-focused
- Strong leadership potential
- Detail-oriented with a quality mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Team-oriented and professional
