Are you a nurturing enthusiastic childcare professional who is ready to make a difference in little lives? We're looking for a dedicated Nursery Nurse to join our warm and welcoming team at GOSH Staff Day Nursery. The nursery is in a quiet cul-de-sac on Long Yard, with numerous parks and outdoor provisions available for the children to visit daily.

Interviews will be held on site on 25th February and 11th March.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

  • As Nursery Nurse you will be a Key person who is responsible for building relationships with small groups of children and their families.
  • You will provide high standards of quality within the Nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
  • Observe, support and extend children's learning
  • Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.

To be considered for the role you will be:

You will need to have a minimum Childcare Level 3 qualification and experience of working in a busy nursery environment covering the age range 3 months - 5 years, together with excellent knowledge of child development and current practices.

  • Level 3 Childcare & Education qualification e.g., NVQ 3, BTEC etc equivalent childcare courses (i.e., must meet the early years educator criteria and be approved by Ofsted)

Experience/Knowledge
  • Demonstrable evidence of significant experience of working in a nursery setting, with children aged 3 months - 5 years
  • Demonstrable experience of contributing to daily/weekly planning for children aged 0-5years
  • Knowledge and experience of using Development matters and EYFS in nursery setting
Skills/Abilities
  • Good Communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work within a team and under own initiative
  • Ability to meet the needs of the service within a team environment
