Up to £38,000 + benefits
We are a growing, values-led provider of children’s residential care, operating multiple therapeutic homes across London Boroughs. We support young people aged 11–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), and complex needs, delivering high-quality, child-centred care in a nurturing environment.
We are seeking an experienced Residential Children’s Home Team Leader to join one of our London-based homes. This is an exciting opportunity to take a step into leadership, develop your skills, and support a motivated staff team while making a real difference to young people’s lives.
The Role
* Lead a small team of Residential Childcare Workers within a children’s home
* Supervise and support staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and feedback
* Assist with day-to-day operations and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care
* Promote safeguarding, stability, and emotional wellbeing for children and young people
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and incident reporting
* Work alongside the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager to ensure regulatory compliance
* Embed therapeutic, trauma-informed, and child-centred approaches
* Participate in staff meetings, multi-agency meetings, and training sessions
Essential Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Experience working in a children’s residential care setting
* Understanding of Ofsted Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations
* Leadership, team management, and communication skills
* Ability to motivate and support a team while maintaining high standards of care
* Experience supporting young people with EBD, SEMH, or complex needs
* Emotional resilience and a commitment to child-centred practice
Desirable
* Experience in a therapeutic or trauma-informed residential setting
* Previous experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role
* Knowledge of positive behaviour support
* Full UK driving licence
