Temporary SEN nanny in Teddington

A thoughtful, welcoming family in Teddington is seeking a calm, emotionally attuned nanny to support their almost 5-year-old child at home on a temporary, full-time basis.

The child is bright, curious, and an excellent reader. The role will involve providing gentle educational support to help maintain learning momentum, alongside a strong focus on emotional regulation, confidence-building, and wellbeing.

A parent works from home with a busy schedule, so the family is keen to find the right person who is comfortable working alongside a parent who may be present but unavailable during the day. While this role is initially intended for the next one to two months, there is potential for it to develop into a longer-term or permanent position for the right candidate.

• Has a strong SEN background and experience supporting children with emotional regulation and sensory processing challenges
• Takes a low-demand, nurturing, and child-led approach
• Is calm, patient, emotionally intelligent, and confident supporting children in a home-based setting
• Is comfortable offering light, informal educational support (reading, phonics, age-appropriate learning activities)
• Works well independently and alongside a parent at home

• Providing full-day care in a calm, structured, and supportive home environment
• Supporting emotional regulation through co-regulation, routine, and connection
• Planning gentle, engaging activities tailored to the child's interests and needs
• Offering informal educational support to keep learning on track
• Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the child
• Light child-related tidying and keeping play areas organised
