The lunchtime supervisor will be a member of the staff at Wetherby Kensington and will hold responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient running of lunchtimes, ensuring the boys are supervised safely during the lunch period.
The lunchtime supervisor will report to the Headmistress and be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in line with the school policy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage queues to the dining room.
- Supervise pupils at meal times, encouraging healthy eating and good table manners.
- Assist boys with the correct use of cutlery, drinking facilities and other aspects of the midday meal.
- Clean up spillages and help to clean tables and clear the dining area.
- Oversee boys during outside play or wet play, suggesting activities and monitoring safety.
- Supervise use of toilet facilities, ensuring good hygiene standards.
- Care for the personal cleanliness of the boys.
- Ensure that any boy who is ill or injured receives appropriate medical attention and report serious accidents.
- Maintain health, safety and welfare of all boys at all times.
- Arrange supervision to cover all areas of the outside play area.
- Rotate activities on offer to the boys when necessary.
- Promote inclusivity among all boys.
- Work within the school’s health and safety policy for a safe working environment.
- Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the Headmistress.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Headmistress to communicate information.
- Take part in INSET training when required.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters and prevent disclosure of sensitive information.
- A strong commitment to customer service, combined with enthusiastic and flexible manner.
- Responsibility, honesty, and reliability.
- Good verbal communication skills and a warm, sympathetic, patient and supportive manner when dealing with children and adults.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to undertake first aid training.
- A passion for working with children.
- Positive, can‑do approach.
- Willingness to work outdoors.
- Organization and record‑keeping abilities.
- Flexibility and initiative.
