Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities Team to work full time based in Newham.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £54,083 per annum.
- Effectively protect and promote the welfare of all children for whom the post holder is responsible.
- Lead the investigation of allegations of significant harm to children in consultation with the Practice Leader and other professionals.
- Arrange regular visits with children and ensure that the views, wishes, feelings and lived experience of children is captured and at the forefront of all assessments, interventions and plans.
- Responsible for making realistic child centred plans within a review timeline, that will manage and reduce identified risks and meet the needs of children.
- Share information with partner agencies in accordance with legal requirements and local protocols and ensure that partner agencies are fully involved in planning for and delivery of services to children in need and their families and are updated on any critical incidents.
- Ensure that reports for case conferences, panels and reviews are prepared to a high standard, in time for deadlines and evidence the involvement of children, parents and carers.
- Where appropriate prepare statements for Court and give evidence in care proceedings and private law cases.
- Maintain at all times a courteous, helpful and polite response to children, parents and carers and to ensure that individual needs are recognised and supported.
- Work as part of a team, following all team systems and procedures, including cover for colleagues and participate in the team duty service on a rota basis.
- Progress plans for children appropriately and in accordance with supervisory and management instructions and with regard to budgetary cost.
- Attend supervision, training and appraisal sessions as required. To contribute to a personal development plan and to strive to improve knowledge and practice as a social work professional.
- Undertake other duties within the competence of the post holder that may be required from time to time.
Requirements of this Social Worker role:
- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
