Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within their Passive Fire Protection division. The role focuses on winning new work, developing key client relationships, and increasing market share across commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
This position suits someone with strong knowledge of passive fire protection services, UK fire safety regulations, and a proven ability to convert opportunities into long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the passive fire protection market
Build and manage relationships with main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, developers, housing associations, and local authorities
Promote PFP services including fire stopping, fire doors, compartmentation, penetration sealing, and surveys
Prepare and present proposals, tenders, and client presentations
Work closely with estimating, operations, and compliance teams to ensure commercially viable and deliverable solutions
Maintain and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM systems
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments
Attend networking events, site visits, and industry meetings as required
Achieve agreed sales targets while maintaining compliance with fire safety legislation and quality standards
Essential Experience
Proven business development or sales experience within passive fire protection, fire safety, or construction
Strong understanding of UK fire safety regulations, British Standards, and third-party accreditation schemes (e.g. FIRAS, BM TRADA, IFC)
Track record of generating leads and converting them into profitable contracts
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills
Commercially aware and comfortable working independently
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Fire safety or construction-related qualifications
Knowledge of post-Grenfell building safety and compliance frameworks
Experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors
