About the RoleWe are operating an online store serving the UK market and are looking for an experienced and proactive E‑commerce Operations & Growth Specialist to support the next stage of business growth. This role goes beyond day‑to‑day store management. You will take ownership of sales growth, marketing strategy, promotional planning, UX optimisation, and operational improvements, while developing and executing both B2B (small business‑focused) and B2C (consumer‑focused) sales and promotional strategies.
You will also support hands‑on operational tasks when required. This is a high‑autonomy role where you will be involved in both strategic planning and execution.
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the online store and develop annual growth strategies
- Drive revenue growth through sales initiatives and performance‑based planning
- Plan and execute both B2B (small business) and B2C (household consumer) marketing and promotional strategies
- Prepare and report performance metrics, sales data, and KPIs
- Plan, execute, and optimise promotions, campaigns, and sales events
- Improve e‑commerce operations using Shopify and related tools
- Support operational tasks such as order processing and inventory management when necessary
- Upload and manage new products, ensuring optimal product presentation
- Improve website UX, customer journey, and conversion performance
- Research and source new products aligned with business strategy
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new sales agents, partners, and logistics / delivery service providers
- Liaise with external agencies, agents, and logistics partners and manage ongoing relationships
- Strong understanding of the UK online food and e‑commerce market
- Hands‑on experience managing online stores, ideally using Shopify
- Experience in e‑commerce strategy development and execution
- Proven marketing experience, including digital marketing
- Experience with digital advertising platforms and ad campaign management
- Social media management experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle operational tasks
- Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
- Business‑level proficiency in both English and Japanese
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional working experience
- Experience living in Japan (highly desirable)
- Ability to speak Japanese to a conversational level (highly desirable)
- Strong interest in Japanese food and culture (highly desirable)
- Experience marketing specifically for the UK market
- Background in e‑commerce or online business operations
- Experience in the food or FMCG industry
- Experience in UX optimisation and website renewal projects
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Design experience using tools such as Canva
- Basic HTML/CSS or coding knowledge
- Customer service experience
- Business development or new business launch experience
- Experience working with agencies, agents, or logistics providers
- Proactive and self‑driven, not passive
- Comfortable working in a fast‑growing and evolving business environment
- Data‑driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Able to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders
